Boost Your Follow Through Skills for Your To-Do List

If you’re anything like me, you have a love-hate relationship with your to-do list, and need to boost your follow through skills.

I’m good at writing things on my list, but not as good at checking them off.

I learned 2 tricks that help boost my follow through skills more than anything else.

When I was growing up, my dad taught me how to play tennis.

One of the most significant lessons he taught me, was to follow through with every swing of my tennis racquet.

He said the top of my racquet should be pointing up at the sky after every swing.

His coaching advice was right on the mark, because follow through ensured that the tennis ball went right where I wanted it to go.

It gave me a focal point, and ensured that my swing was intentional.

Trick #1

I applied that advice to my to-do list by envisioning each item finished up.

That helped me find time and motivation for swinging at each unfinished task.

Are you and your to-do list staring at each other… and no one is making a move?

That’s how I feel more often than not!

Yesterday, I announced to my husband that I had finished something on my to-do list, and his reply was a gem.

He said, “Your task was on your to-do list, and now it’s on your ta-da list.”

I just love that!

Trick #2

It’s the motivational help I was looking for, to boost my follow-through skills even more.

A silly little play on words was enough to tweak my perspective, and dangle a carrot in front of the items still on my to-do list.

Who doesn’t love to say, “Ta-da?”

It’s like putting a big gold star next to each item on your list!

Now you have two new ways to boost your follow through skills for your to-do list!

Would you like to have an extra boost for your follow through habits?
